Save the date. Cascadia Winter Solstice Weekend runs Thursday, December 17 through Sunday, December 20, 2026.
The Cascadia NW Arts and Music Festival is turning toward the longest night of the year. Four days across the solstice, built the way Cascadia NW has built gatherings since 2014: music, art, and a community that shows up for each other.
Why the solstice
Cascadia NW began as a three-day summer camping festival in the forests of Cascadia, with an invitation to be present with yourself and with the place you are standing in. That invitation reads differently in December.
Winter here is the long dark, the rain, the months when this bioregion turns inward and the rivers run high. Solstice is the hinge. It is the oldest thing people in northern places do together: gather in the deepest part of the dark and mark the turn back toward light. Doing that on purpose, with music and art and each other, is worth four days.
